Crafty Coffee Hour

When: Fridays in February, 2024, 10 a.m. to noon

Where: Provincetown Public Library, 356 Commercial Street, Provincetown, MA

Stop by the Marc Jacobs Room at Provincetown Public Library for Friday morning Crafty Coffee Hour. 

Grab a cuppa Joe, bring something you’re working on, or just visit.

Craft supplies will be provided, too. And baked goods have been known to appear on occasion. ;-)

It's a great way to start the weekend!


Orleans Farmers Market

When: Saturdays in February 2024 from 10 a.m. to noon

Where: 44 Main Street, Orleans, MA

During the winter months, the popular Orleans Farmers Market is held indoors at the Old Firehouse.

Stop by and stock up on fresh, locally grown and harvested seafood, meats, and produce, as well as yummy treats, healthy foods and healing balms from area food artisans and wildcrafters.


Meet the Archaeologist

When: Sundays in February, 2024, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Whydah Pirate Museum, 674 Rt. 28, West Yarmouth, MA

Admission: $17/adult (ages 16 - 64); $15/seniors (age 65+); $13/youth (ages 5 - 15); Ages 4 & Under Free

A visit to the Whydah Pirate Museum is a fascinating experience any time!

But Sundays in February are extra-special because that's when the museum's marine archaeologist will be there to meet you and show you, first-hand, how real treasure from the 1700s Whydah Gally pirate ship is being excavated and preserved.

On your tour of the museum, be sure to go back to the lab and spend a little time chatting with the archaeologist. Have questions? Don't hesitate to ask! I know you'll be blown away by what you see and learn!!


Fun at Cape Cod Beer Brewery

  • "Pawdi Gras", a special "yappy hour" for you and your furry friend. 
  • "Galentines Paint Night" where you're invited to roll up your sleeves, take a sip, and paint to your heart's content with  step-by-step instruction from a trained artist.
  • And for all you Deadheads out there, you won't want to miss the 4th annual "Dead of Winter" event with the Grateful Dead Tribute Band Playing Dead.

Boat Builders Show on Cape Cod

When: February 2 - 4, 2024; Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Hyport Conference Center, 35 Scudder Avenue, Hyannis, MA

For avid boaters, this is one of the first Cape Cod events of the year to remind us that boating season will be here before we know it. 

Are you in the market for a new boat? Or maybe you'd just like to ogle some of the most beautiful watercraft you've ever seen?

You won't want to miss this year's Boat Builders' Show in Hyannis where talented, independent boat builders showcase their custom and limited-production fiberglass and wooden sail and powerboats.

No wonder this show is considered "The Best Independent Boat Builders Show in the Northeast"!


Winter Film Festival

When: February 4 & 11, 2024, 1:30 p.m.

Looking for something to do on a chilly Sunday afternoon? Head  to the Salt Pond Visitors Center in Eastham for the Friends of the Cape Cod National Seashore's popular Winter Film Festival.

Sake Tasting and Sushi-Making Demo

When: February 7, 2024; 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Where: Cape Cod Package Store, 1495 Falmouth Road, Centerville, MA

Tickets: $50 per person (online registration only; ticket sales end on Feb. 6th at noon)

Liven up a winter evening with a Sake and Sushi!

Learn about the basic principles of Sake production while observing the art of sushi-making with Eric from Misake Sushi Bar. Eric will craft 3 different, delicious sushi rolls for you to taste, along with 6 types of Sake. 

Explore the main types and styles of sake, as well as factors affecting the flavors of Sake. Who knows where the evening will lead? Saki might become your new beverage of choice!


Line Dancing Class at CBI

When: February 9, 2024, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Chatham Bars Inn,297 Shore Road, Chatham, MA

Admission: $40 per person; admission includes two drinks (beer or wine) and a 10% discount to CBI's Sacred Cod Tavern that's good through March 31, 2024.

Join native Cape Codder Monique Costa with “Salty Boots” as she teaches you how to line dance. Monique has led classes on Cape Cod and all over for the last 5 years.

Grab a pair of cowboy boots if you choose, or sneakers are just fine, too! And join others as you dance to some country, hip hop and other fun music. No experience is needed.

This event is open to the public as well as Chatham Bars guests and members. Advanced reservations recommended.


Osterville Village Chocolate Festival & Dog Parade

When: February 10, 2024, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Osterville Village Library, 43 Wianno Avenue, Osterville MA and other locations throughout the village

Sweeten the season with this celebration that features an array of chocolate-themed activities including a Chocolate Dessert Contest with a special children's category, chocolate samples, family crafts, retail promotions at participating Osterville shops, a dog parade (weather permitting) with prizes and treats, and more!


Nauset Newcomers February Meeting

When: February 14, 2024; Social hour at 8:30 a.m., Meeting at  9:30 a.m., Keynote Speaker Jung- Ho Pak at 10:00 a.m.

Where: Wellfleet Cinemas, 51 Route 6 , Wellfleet, MA

Admission: FREE to members and non-members.

Many Cape Codders remember the electricity generated by Jung-Ho Pak when he conducted the Cape Cod Symphony and the great sadness when he moved on to a new orchestra in 2023.

This month's Nauset Newcomers' meeting is your chance to get your Jung-Ho Pak “fix” when he serves as keynote speaker on Valentine’s Day.

Described by the New York Times as a conductor who ”radiates enthusiasm“ and by the Los Angeles Times as a “real grabber”, Jung-Ho Pak is known for his unique and radical vision of the role of symphonic and classical music in our modern world.

Come see him in person. All are welcome!


Outermost Contra Dance

When: February 16, 2024, 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.)

Where: Wellfleet Preservation Hall, 335 Main Street, Wellfleet, MA

Admission: $15 adults; $10 age 30 and under; $5 students (with ID)

Contra dancing is the true traditional New England dance, brought here by the Irish, English and Scottish settlers.

No fancy footwork needed – if you can walk, you can dance!  All the dances are taught and called. If you’re new to contra dance, be sure to get in on the early dances for the basic moves.

The contra dance is family friendly and welcomes dancers of all levels. So bring your sweetie, your kids, or come alone. Lots of fun, friendly people will be there to welcome you!


Yarmouth Winter Carnival

When: February 17 - 19, 2024, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Where: Skull Island, 934 Rt. 28, South Yarmouth, MA

Admission: $5 per person; kids 6 and under FREE. Cash only at the front gate. (Extra charge for skating)

Put on your warmies and head to Yarmouth for the annual Yarmouth Winter Carnival!

In addition to an outdoor synthetic ice skating rink, there'll be food trucks, s'mores fun, magic shows, a petting zoo, touch-a-truck, Mad Science shows, and a whole lot more family-friendly fun!

*Note: The ice skating rink will be weather dependent.


Green Meadow Forest

When: February 17 and 24, 2024; during open hours (9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)

Where: Green Briar Nature Center, 6 Discovery Hill Road, East Sandwich, MA

Visit the storybook world of Peter Rabbit, Grandfather Frog, Reddy Fox, and the many other characters created by beloved children’s author, Thornton W. Burgess.

At the Green Meadow Forest experience, visitors can play with Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rabbit in their Rabbit Hollow, fish with Billy Mink, try Plinko with Happy Jack Squirrel and enjoy other fun and educational activities. 

This event is a wonderful way for the whole family to learn about the animals native to our area, their habitat and how they were portrayed in Burgess’s stories!

Radio, Sound & Light for Kids at Chatham Marconi

When: February 19, 20, 21 and 22, 2024

Celebrate Engineer's Week by discovering fun STEM experiments at Chatham Marconi Maritime Center.

Experiment with radio, sound and light created for Chatham Marconi 's TechSmart program. These hands-on experiments are yours to enjoy.

This event is appropriate for students in grades 4 through 6, for  inquisitive students not quite yet in 4th grade, and for their curious parents, too!


Cape Cod Museum of Natural History Programs

When: February 19 - 23, 2024, during museum open hours

Where: Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Rt. 6A, Brewster

Admission: Admission prices vary by event. Some events are free with Museum admission.

Cape Cod Museum of Natural History re-opens mid-month, just in time for school vacation week. 

Along with all the wonderful exhibits the museum is known for, school vacation week brings even more fun and educational entertainment for the whole family.


The Amazing Richard & Co. Magic Show

When: February 20, 2024 at 2 p.m.
