Whale Watching on Cape Cod

Whale Watching in Cape Cod - Wow!!

Whale Watching in Cape Cod - Wow!!

Here are some photos of our recent Cape Cod whale watching adventure out of Barnstable Harbor.

In one picture, you can see the outline of a whale that passed right under the boat.

In another, the whale had both of its flippers in the air and was slapping them against the water. This whale first got the boat's attention by breaching and slamming into the water. The sound was incredible and the splash was enormous!

On a nice day, taking the ride from Barnstable Harbor out to Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary is beautiful.

The entire whale watch is about four hours long. Be sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, sunblock, water, and your camera!

It's not a cheap excursion with tickets around $45 for adults and $28 for children (parking at Barnstable Harbor will be another $15), but it's an experience that you'll never forget!

Thanks so much for sharing your Cape Cod whale watch experience with us, Aimee!

The cruise from Barnstable Harbor out to Stellwagen Bank really is scenic, isn't it?

The last time we cruised that route, we saw a mother and baby whale feeding in Cape Cod Bay - just a few miles beyond the entrance to the Harbor. What a treat it was to see them up close and personal, and so close to shore!

Thanks again for the great photos ... and for your reminder about what to bring on a Cape Cod whale watching excursion!
