Dogs on the Beach

Question: Are dogs allowed on the beach?

Dee's Reply: Hi Patrice - During the summer months, some towns do allow leashed dogs on the beach. But that's usually only in the early morning or later in the evening, when the beaches are free of sunbathers and swimmers.

In the off-season, generally from mid-October to late April, dogs are allowed on most of the town-managed beaches.

At the Cape Cod National Seashore beaches, leashed dogs are allowed in certain areas all year round.
