Cape Cod Bike Rentals

For many visitors to Cape Cod, bike rentals offer a convenient and inexpensive way to get around, enjoy the scent of the sea, and do some leisurely sightseeing.

With so many people choosing to ride rather than drive, our local rent-a-bike shops are very popular places indeed!

Are Advance Reservations a "Must"?

Some rental shops require reservations, others don't.

However ...

If you'll be here during a peak vacation month (July or August), you might want to make a reservation in advance, just to be sure you won't be disappointed.

That's especially true if you'll be staying in a very two-wheel oriented town like Provincetown, where it seems that 99% of the population prefers pedaling over searching (and paying) for a parking spot.

"Off-Season" Bike Rentals

Many visitors are now discovering what we locals have known forever ... that Cape Cod is a wonderful place for biking all year long.

I suspect that's why more and more bike shops are staying open year round. Others are going to an "extended season", meaning they open earlier in the spring and stay open longer in autumn, if the weather is nice.

The bottom line is:

If you'll be here before Memorial Day (late May) or after Labor Day (early September), it's a good idea to call ahead to be sure that your preferred rental shop will be open!
